Classic Muhammara Recipe

Ingredients:

2 red bell peppers
1 cup walnuts
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
2 cloves garlic
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp pomegranate molasses
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 400°F and roast the red bell peppers until charred, about 20 minutes.
Remove the peppers from the oven and let them cool before peeling off the skins and removing the seeds.
In a food processor, combine the roasted peppers, walnuts, breadcrumbs, garlic, olive oil, pomegranate molasses, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Pulse until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Transfer the muhammara to a serving bowl and drizzle with a little extra olive oil before serving with pita bread or veggies.

Spicy Muhammara Dip

Ingredients:

2 red bell peppers
1/2 cup walnuts
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1-2 tsp red pepper flakes
2 cloves garlic
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt to taste

Instructions:

Follow the same roasting and peeling process for the red bell peppers as in the classic recipe.
In a food processor, combine the roasted peppers, walnuts, breadcrumbs, red pepper flakes, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt.
Pulse until the mixture is smooth and spicy.
Adjust the seasoning to taste and serve with crunchy pita chips for a delicious kick.
