Classic Hotteok Recipe

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup warm water
1 packet active dry yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped mixed nuts (optional)
1/2 cup chopped dried fruit (optional)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Steps:

Dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Gradually add in the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.
Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Punch down the dough and divide it into small balls. Flatten each ball and fill it with a mixture of brown sugar, nuts, and dried fruit.
Heat a skillet with vegetable oil and fry the filled dough balls until golden brown on both sides.
Serve hot and enjoy!
