Classic Spanakopita Recipe

Ingredients:

– 1 package frozen phyllo dough, thawed
– 1 pound spinach, chopped
– 1 onion, diced
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
– 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
– 1/4 cup olive oil
– Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté until translucent.
3. Add spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted. Remove from heat and let cool.
4. In a large bowl, combine spinach mixture, feta cheese, dill, salt, and pepper.
5. Lay out one sheet of phyllo dough and brush with olive oil. Place another sheet on top and repeat until you have a stack of 5 sheets.
6. Cut the phyllo dough stack into 4 equal strips.
