Classic Asam Pedas Recipe

Ingredients:

– 500g fish (such as mackerel or snapper)
– 5-6 pieces of dried tamarind
– 2 cups water
– 3-4 red chilies
– 1 onion
– 2 cloves of garlic
– 1 tablespoon of cooking oil
– Salt and sugar to taste

Steps:

1. Soak the dried tamarind in water for about 10 minutes, then strain to extract the tamarind juice.
2. Slice the onion, garlic, and red chilies thinly.
3. Heat the cooking oil in a pot and sauté the sliced onion, garlic, and chilies until fragrant.
