– Jaggery

3. Add the mashed bananas, jaggery, and cardamom powder to the pan.
4. Cook on low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
5. Once the mixture reaches a jam-like consistency, remove from heat and let it cool.
6. Serve the kaya podi with dosa or idli for a traditional Kerala breakfast.

Kaya Thoran (Banana Coconut Stir Fry)

Ingredients:

– Raw bananas
– Grated coconut
– Mustard seeds
– Curry leaves
– Turmeric powder

Steps:

1. Peel and slice the raw bananas into thin pieces.
2. In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
3. Add the sliced bananas, turmeric powder, and grated coconut to the pan.
4. Stir-fry the mixture until the bananas are cooked through and the coconut is toasted.
